Mustang Musical Sketch Show!

Don’t miss your chance to see the Middle School’s Mustang Musical Sketch Show this week only! Back for its second year in a row, the Mustang Musical Sketch Show is a hilarious mashup of short student-written comedy sketches and some musical numbers — it’s like “Saturday Night Live” and “All That” meets “Glee”!

It’s been a whirlwind production for the cast, crew, student directors, and Mr. Spencer Stephens, the Show Director and Director of the Middle School Theatre program, because they’ve written all-new, original sketches and staged the entire show in only ten short rehearsals. They are keeping pace with SNL for sure!

Mr. Stephens says of the show: “I believe collaboration sparks greater creativity, and that is so evident with this show. Middle School students have worked together to write, direct, design, and perform this show and I have been blown away by their creativity, enthusiasm, and talent. Don’t miss it!” Read more about Mr. Stephens, a true Mount Vernon treasure, in one of two of this month’s Faculty in Focus feature articles here [insert link].

You won’t want to miss such sketches as “Big Man and the Fishes,” where Santa goes on vacation and chaos ensues,” the apocalyptic dance party in “Emo Elmo,” or how to speak chicken in “Fowl Language.” It’s going to be laugh-out-loud fun!

The main cast members in the show are Smith Andres, Caleb Campbell, Charlotte Chaffin, Avery Cole, Siena Ferrara, Max Franklin, Peyton Fuller, Rex Garlinghouse, Jalen Hagans, Julia Houseal, Lydia Katz, Oliver Membrillo, Sierra Peterson, Sonoma Peterson, Abby Stanford, Lily Tuck, Vivienne Veach, Emma Laura Woodall. The ensemble and understudy members in the show are Olivia Boissymaty, Hutson Douglas, Elle O’Neal, Grayson Richmond, Kadin Tomlinson, Jordan Wade, Amalie Zufari.

Mr. Stephens is supported by student directors Aisha Franklyn, Ryanne Kelly, Jewel Mayfield, Katie Day Schwartz, and Rachel Adams, Noah Erwin, Michael Fennelly, Cameron Flotta, Lauren Hoath, Morgan Huggins, Jacob Opler and Lucas Ready comprise the tech crew.

The show runs Tuesday, February 8th through Friday, February 11th at 6:00 p.m. in the Middle School Blackbox Theatre.
