The Mount Vernon Arts Alliance is an independent organization of parents, grandparents, and special friends committed to advancing the educational mission of Mount Vernon Studios. We are dedicated to connecting families and the school’s arts and design faculty and nurturing the Mount Vernon community’s creativity in Film, Theater, Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Technical, VR, Ceramics, Fashion…
This year we are looking at some exciting changes. Almost every month, we will gather for coffee. During these meetups, we will have an opportunity to hear from some of the fantastic professional artists here at Mount Vernon, followed by a spotlight performance from our students. I hope you join us each month for our MVAA Parent Universities. Click here to find out more.
We have also scheduled our amazing builds for the next few months. Build Days are a fun time to get together with parents, grandparents, and students. You will be amazed as our lower campus students join our upper campus students in making all the stuff we use at Mount Vernon in our shows, highlighting our students’ classwork art, and just bringing joy to the campus. Our next build, scheduled for Saturday, September 24th at 10:00 AM, will have people stringing beads, painting reindeer, finishing the S&S set, and cutting out dinosaurs. Who wouldn’t want to play with an 8-foot T-Rex? Click here to find out more.
Our Newsletter, The Curator continues this year under the guidance of Catherine Kasravi, mom to Mount Vernon students Saam (grade 6) and Giv (grade 3). The Curator is another way we connect with Mount Vernon families throughout the year, sharing stories of our students’ successes and opportunities to participate. The articles, many of which our students write, take us behind the curtain for upcoming events. We are looking forward to this year, as our lower campus joins in on the action and finds themselves in the reporting role. Stay tuned for more information.
As you can see, so much is happening within our community. I encourage you to join the Mount Vernon Arts Alliance. We are volunteers at the school, and our efforts support Mount Vernon Studios, our art department at MV. Members include Mount Vernon parents, students, grandparents, alums, and friends. Our Annual Membership is FREE, and membership gets you first access to MV Studios ticket sales, a calendar, two free tickets for each art event, and a car magnet so you can show off your MVAA allegiance.
Thank you so much for your support, and I look forward to seeing you at our next event!
