Every year, before Thanksgiving, the MV Middle School hosts one or more Fall Plays. This year, they are the Great Middle School Poe-A-Thon and Peter and The Starcatcher. These plays are great for all ages, and we encourage everyone to come and experience the abundance of middle school talent! The Poe-A-Thon is a spooky play of three Edgar Allen Poe tales and will make viewers jump in fright! Peter and The Starcatcher is a prequel to Peter Pan and is a ‘laugh out loud’ play with plenty of comedy.
Mount Vernon’s wonderful show Director, Spencer Stephens is a student favorite, pushing the young actors to create the best shows possible and providing plenty of encouragement. The Fall plays feature middle schooler actors, cast in roles that best fit each student’s personality. No one is judged in theater; gender and physical appearance have no effect on the casting process.
Student actors have been memorizing hundreds of lines, down to the exact word, and rehearsing all movements. But… it’s not all work! The theater is fun, there are free snacks, and the audience plays an important role.
Please come support the hard work and determination of MV Middle School thespians!
