Vernon Vocals is a club for students in G6-12 who love to sing. The group was formed 7 years ago by Emmy Schaeffer, a student who wanted to start a vocal group where students set the schedule, picked the songs, and made all the big decisions. Over the years, Vernon Vocals has performed on and off campus, at Dollywood, Disney World, and Universal Studios. This year, Grace Gilmour and Miller Woodall are the co-leaders of the group and coordinate all rehearsals, communications, and logistics. The group sings in a wide variety of genres from pop to rock, musical theatre, country, holiday, and a cappella music. They practice from 7:30-8:15am on Wednesday mornings and students earn points toward membership in Tri-M music honor society through attendance and participation in rehearsals, performances, and community events.
